Barry entertained Llanishen in their latest League fixture at the Reservoir Field last Saturday in a game preceded by a minutes silence to respect the sad passing of two Club stalwarts in past Secretary,Chairman and Player,Tony Phillips and Clive Linton for many years a First XV Player.

Playing up the slope and into the wind Barry,for a change, started on the front foot and rather than absorb early pressure from the visitors as has been the case recently, took early control forcing Llanishen into defending.

They got an early reward as following a lineout from a penalty the ball was spread across the backs finally seeing Tom Perry breach the defence to score with Kyle Barross adding the extras.

The early success encouraged Barry to continue with their attacking style and minutes later they went further ahead as a midfield drive saw Harry Moyle battle his way over the line with Barross again adding the conversion.

Further success came immediately from the restart as Moyle made some 40m to set up the ball and give Brad White the try and Barross another successful conversion.

Barry were penalised at the restart giving the visitors their first chance to attack but despite some concerted pressure the home defence was solid and appeared to have cleared the danger only to be penalised and Llanishen kicked the penalty to open their account.

The half was drawing to a close with Barry back on the attack and but for a touch of white line fever could have gone further ahead.As it was the scoreline stayed the same at 21 - 3 as the whistle went.

The visitors began the second half with a bit more urgency and aided by a series of penalties and lineout errors from Barry looked threatening but the home defence stayed strong.

Barry gradually got their momentum back and brought on subs. James Hollister and Lucas Davies to freshen things up.

Recovering the ball from an overthrown lineout  Barry moved the ball quickly and accurately where from the resultant ruck Alyn Evans forced his way over the line for the try again Kyle Barross put over the conversion.

Barry's tactics were forcing Llanishen to play from deep and their eagerness to get back into the game was leading to errors.They were made to pay as Barry stole a loose ball putting them on the attack and once again good ball handling skills found the space to put Danny Ryan in for the try and another Barross conversion.

Despite the score line Llanishen still tried to be competitive and a quickly taken penalty saw play taken to the Barry line only to lose the ball in contact putting Barry back on the attack and quick hands saw space created for Danny Ryan to cross for his second try and conversion from Kyle Barross., with the score now 42 - 3.

Hard as Llanishen tried they were unable to get through the home defence and it was who remained on the offensive as the game wound down.

One further try came before the end as Kyle Barross created his own space to cross and converted his own try to complete a 100% success converting all seven tries.

A vital bonus point win for Barry as they chase the sides above them in the League and also a welcome sight to see them play for the full eighty minutes and the benefits that produces.
